The recently abundant outcry with excessive Photoshopping has lead lawmakers to stand up. With the boom of social platforms and the constant exposure to visual media, the image of perfection is continually forced upon us.

A new bill was introduced today by Congresswomen Lois Capps and llena Ros-Lethinen about the excessive use of Photoshop. Like how many of us saw the before and after of Lady Gaga's Versace shoot. She practically looks like maybe a close relative but not identical to what she looks like.

Here are fifteen handy photoshop shortcut commands. They are handy in many occasions because you often have to move your mouse cursor in order to select a tool, but this means moving it from a position that may be difficult to find again. Plus, it becomes a very long process if you have to keep switching tools very often. The buttons are all shortcuts, and some of them work on web browsers too, such as Ctrl + Z and Ctrl + 0.

The benefit of using this method to sharpen your images is that the sharpening effect is applied in a non-destructive fashion, on a duplicate layer, with a very simple to understand parameter (in the Radius value) that controls the magnitude of the sharpening, as well as giving you the ability to fine tune the final effect using the Opacity slider. What are photoshop actions? Basically actions are shortcuts that photographers use to speed up the editing process. Sure you could edit things by hand and lighten things up, change the tint of the file, add more color with your hue/saturation tool – but actions let you do all of this with the click of a button. Actions are really helpful because you can get a variety of looks quickly and saves a TON of time in the editing room.

Another issue that has been presenting itself, ever more so. Retouching in Photoshop, well this one is photoshop actions. Which in the shortest terms are shortcuts, to speed up the editing process. With a handful of palettes to choose from, this will make all that manual labor, easier on you.

Two years ago, photographer and musician David Niles was watching his son Nathan let his imagination run wild as he played with his favorite toys. It was then that he was inspired to put Nate, now 9 years old, into these worlds with a little help from Photoshop. Thus was born the Nate’s Adventures series.
