Taking a selfie is a great way to learn how the camera perceives you. But it must be said that the perspective of a selfie, which is usually photographed at arms length with a digital camera or camera phone, can be skewed. So the other option is to take a selfie through a mirror reflection. However the asthetic is still inaccurate to the true form. Photos, like paintings are, only, an interpretation of the truth. So don’t take it seriously and feel free to play with angles, cropping, framing, lighting, and the scene. Be creative and pay attention to detail because when all eyes are on you, in that one moment in time, everything is seen.
