The Best iPad Apps to Use with SAMR Model ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

The Best iPad Apps to Use with SAMR Model ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Create, Innovate & Evaluate in Higher Education | Scoop.it

"SAMR model is a conceptual framework developed by  Dr. Ruben Puentedura to help you better integrate technology in your instruction. SAMR stands for Substitution, Augmentation, Modification and Redefinition. Each of these four levels correspond with a set of tech-based activities and learning tasks. The strength of SAMR model is that it provides teachers with a robust method to gauge and assess the efficacy of the technology they and their students use in class. Check out this section for more resources on  SAMR."

Alfredo Corell's insight:

This is a guest post from Greg Kulowiec of EdTechTeacher.org, an advertiser on Free Technology for Teachers.

Publishing student video that is created with iPads can be a challenging process, especially with younger students. Even schools that are Google Apps typically decide to turn off YouTube uploads to the student accounts. However, with the use of a handful of free applications, students can create video content on iPad, share their creation with a teacher, and then have the teacher upload to their YouTube channel or a class YouTube channel.

Miss D's comment, August 27, 2013 9:38 PM
Note sure I agree with 'sit at a table or chair'. iPads are great because they make learning mobile. By implementing this rule, you take this away. In my classroom, you see kids scattered around the room and on the veranda outside, sitting where they feel comfortable. We just have a rule that you can't leave the iPad unattended on the floor.

Harmittaa, kun Sparkolin ohjelmisto täytyy asentaa koneelle. Ilmainen koeaika antaisi muuten mainion mahdollisuuden kokeilla omien animaatioiden tekoa opetuskäyttöön.

Using the iPad for collaborative learning isn’t the most seamless thing in the world. For one, you have to define what you mean by collaborative learning, and here we can loosely define it was “a kind of learning where collaboration is an integral part of the learning process.”

This means not just publishing ideas, but publishing them in ways where writers can receive feedback, reflect, and revise their writing or thinking.

This means not just tweeting thoughts or content, but doing so intentionally to promote feedback and interaction.
