How to Be Infectious: also in Learning | Create, Innovate & Evaluate in Higher Education | Scoop.it

What does it mean to be infectious? I used my handy Google Dictionary extension for Chrome and this definition relates best to this post: Likely to spread or influence others in a rapid manner.

Educación tecnológica: Apps educativas organizadas y clasificadas

Educación tecnológica: Apps educativas organizadas y clasificadas | Create, Innovate & Evaluate in Higher Education | Scoop.it

What are the components of a digital classroom? From eBooks to smartboards, iTunesU implementation to online learning, the classroom as we know it is changing.

It’s true that a digital classroom is a vague idea. And subjective–one educator’s cutting edge learning laboratory is the next educator’s been there, done that.

The following infographic looks at some of the more common elements of a digital classroom, including:

- eBooks
- Book rental via Kindle
- iPads
- Open Source software

How the iPad Is Changing Education | Create, Innovate & Evaluate in Higher Education | Scoop.it
The iPad may only be two years old, but it's already begun to change many things. Reading is one of them. Work is another. It is selling like crazy, but it will be some time before most of the people you know own a tablet.

Challenging the Model of 1:1 with BYOD

Challenging the Model of 1:1 with BYOD | Create, Innovate & Evaluate in Higher Education | Scoop.it

By Amanda Paquette

This year my school district in Vermont ventured into a sort-of BYOD/1:1 hybrid program. We realized the importance of allowing our students access to technology to enhance their learning, but the infrastructure wasn't in place to tackle a traditional BYOD. And we, like many if not all schools, were also constrained by budgets, so a traditional 1:1, where each student receives the same device, was also out of reach.

All You Need to Know About Infographics: Tips, Tutorials, Guides | Create, Innovate & Evaluate in Higher Education | Scoop.it

Let’s be honest, we don’t like to read big pieces of text. Text-heavy graphs are rather difficult for understanding, especially when dealing with numbers and statistics. That is why illustrations and flowcharts are often used for such kind of information.

An infographic, or a visual representation of study or data, like anything else, can be done right or wrong. How to create a successful infographic? A good idea and a good design.

Stop by the link for more on what defines an infographic, what contributes to its popularity, as well as the various types of infographics and references for tutorials and best practices.

Bloom’s Taxonomy Re-imagine & Digital Blooms: different ways to approach learning

Bloom’s Taxonomy Re-imagine & Digital Blooms: different ways to approach learning | Create, Innovate & Evaluate in Higher Education | Scoop.it

I’ve long been a fan of Bloom’s Taxonomy…not necessarily for all the ways it has been pushed into different fads throughout the years, but instead for the way that it helps me (and my students) think about the learning process. It helps me approach the learning process in a more holistic way, ensuring that I don’t camp out in one way of thinking and evidencing learning for too long. I think it is human nature to get excited about one way of thinking and suddenly everything we do falls into that. It can be a little bit like the new car that you purchased, you begin to see that car everywhere because you have a new awareness of it. I’ve noticed myself doing the same in teaching. Bloom’s Taxonomy helps me to keep myself cognizant of all the different ways to approach learning.
