Actress Stephanie Drapeau and One World Foundation visits Baan Unrak Children's Home in Thailand | Philanthropy Report - Legacy From The Heart | Scoop.it

Thailand, October 24, 2013 – Actress Stephanie Drapeau recently returned from her visit to Baan Unrak, a children’s home in Thailand. Founded by Didi Ananda Devamala twenty years ago, Baan Unrak houses over 100 children coming from the most extreme disadvantaged backgrounds, many whom are refugees from Myanmar. Baan Unrak resides in a region of immense risk for human trafficking and abuses of all kinds, so the shelter, food, education and boundless love it provides to these children serve as a foundation from which their futures can flourish. Already, six children from Baan Unrak have been given the opportunity to attend the university in Bangkok.

Amidst her opportunity to spend time at Baan Unrak, Stephanie returned with one message, sharing that “love isn't a strong enough word to describe this family of children,” and that, “We can all learn from their immense capacity to heal and find back the joy of life”.

This past year, Stephanie teamed up with her husband and scientist, Christian Drapeau www.christiandrapeau.com) via their foundation (One World Foundation) to launch a project designed to make Baan Unrak self-sufficient; it’s called the Baan Unrak Weaving Project . To support this family of over 100 kids, visit www.buconscious.comand purchase a hand-woven Suk Pant, of which 100% of the proceeds go to support Baan Unrak or visit www.oneworld-foundation.org to contribute.
